いろはかるた？Let`s try ABC karuta and other ABC games

In Japan children play iroha karuta at New Year. This is a fun game, but most importantly it is a very good way to study and match the hiragana and the sound.

in English it is also important to match the letter to the sound. This is called phonics in English and is an important base for pronunciation, reading and writing.

The students enjoyed playing ABC sounds karuta.

Let`s make groups of 4. Spread out the alphabet cards on the table. Hands on heads! Listen carefully to the teacher.

The word is “dog”. Can you find “d”? Be careful! Don`t pick up “b”, “p” or “q”.

Challenge team! We are all fast! It`s a great ABC karuta battle.
